HEAD OF THE ORGANIZATION
Luz Divina Canave Anung
BACKGROUND OF THE ORGANIZATION
Tambayan Center for Children’s Rights Inc. is a non-stock, non-profit, NGO established in 1996 to respond to the “buntog phenomenon” in Davao City. In the 90s, adolescent girls roaming in the streets of Davao were called “buntogs” or quail birds as they were compared to these birds who hop from place to place to nest. Tambayan is a multi-awarded institution due to its steadfast work in child protection and participation.
MISSION
Tambayan, as a resource center, commits to strengthen the inherent capacities and create a favourable environment for the fulfilment of the rights of adolescent girls in the streets (AGS) and children in need of special protection (CNSP).
